Auction House Tracker Privacy Policy

Auction House Tracker is an unofficial companion app from Edge Case LLC. No Battle.net account or app account is required.

Data we collect

Android app

The current Android app does not require a Battle.net or app account. It sends HTTPS read requests to find markets, search items, and retrieve quotes. Depending on your choices, requests can include the game version, region, realm, faction, search terms, filters, and item IDs. Item searches are optional. For a non-Forever item search, if the service has no matching catalog entry cached, it sends your submitted search term to Blizzard's Game Data API to find matching item IDs.

When an item image is available, the app loads it directly from Blizzard image services using the image URL returned by the market API. This separate image request exposes your device's IP address and other network metadata to the image service. The API, its hosting provider, and image providers may also receive or process request IP addresses and other network metadata under their own policies. This policy does not specify their retention periods or whether they infer location from IP addresses.

Android uses these requests to deliver market browsing, search, item quotes, and images. It stores your selected market and favorite item IDs in private app storage; it does not save market prices or item images for offline use. Android price alerts, push notifications, advertising, and purchases are not included in the current build. The iPhone and contributor features described elsewhere in this policy are separate versions and services.

How we use data

We use this information to deliver price alerts, keep alert rules synchronized, suppress advertising after purchase, measure and improve service reliability, prevent abuse, comply with law, and show advertising to users who have not removed ads.

Sharing and sources

We use Apple for StoreKit and push delivery, Google for advertising and consent, and infrastructure providers for app hosting and database services. Auction and item information comes from Blizzard's Game Data API labeled TradeSkillMaster community AuctionDB snapshots, and labeled player-collected Forever beta auction scans. The optional Forever companion exports item IDs, item names, stack quantities, buyout prices, realm, region, faction, client version, and scan time. It does not export character names, seller names, chat, or Battle.net credentials. The free contributor program uses an alias and an individual access key, with owner approval for each market. The addon can start read-only scans automatically when a player opens a supported capital-city auction house, with an opt-out in its panel; contributors can upload the completed export on the website or let the companion upload it after a reload or logout. We store a hash of each access key, its approval scopes, contribution receipts and one review sample per contributor. Signup abuse controls retain a keyed hash of the signup IP address for up to two days. Review samples expire after 7 days, contribution receipts after 29 days, and inactive pending accounts after 30 days. Approved access remains until revoked or deleted. You can delete contributor access on the contributor page, which immediately revokes the key and deletes the alias, scopes and review sample. Revoked records are removed after 29 days; already shared market observations expire on their usual schedule. No email address or Battle.net login is needed to contribute. We do not sell personal information. We do not send installation identifiers, device tokens, or alert rules to Blizzard or TradeSkillMaster.

Retention and your choices

Server alert rules remain until you delete them or request deletion. Push registrations without any alert rules are removed after 30 days without registration activity. Turning notifications off in iOS does not delete server records. Market observations, catalog metadata, featured-item caches, and ingestion diagnostics are purged from the active database at 29 days; API responses independently exclude market data at 28 days, leaving time for the app to discard its in-memory view before the 30-day source limit. Provider security logs and backups follow provider-defined schedules. Deleted records may remain in restricted backups until those backups expire; we do not use backups to serve market data. You can delete alerts in the app, disable notifications in iOS Settings, use Advertising Privacy Choices when available, or purchase Remove Ads Forever. In app version 1.0.4 and later, Settings → Your data and deletion shows your installation ID and opens an email deletion request. Send the request to contact@edgecase.works and keep the app installed until we confirm deletion. Older versions can contact the same address for help identifying their records. We delete the associated alert rules and push registration after verifying the request; Apple purchase records and Google advertising records are controlled by those providers. Creating another alert or enabling notifications can register the installation again.

Version 1.0.4 and later removes the legacy on-device market snapshot cache on first launch and keeps newly fetched prices and images in memory, rather than saving them for offline use. Alert rules, selected markets, favorites, consent choices, and purchase entitlements may persist on your device. Older app versions and existing device backups may still contain prior cached data.

Data sources and limitations

In app version 1.0.6 and later, Forever beta prices are pulled automatically from the AHledger public API. AHledger collects community auction snapshots; you do not need to run a personal scan. Our server requests market and item data without sending your installation ID, push token, alert rules, or Battle.net credentials to AHledger. Original observation times remain visible and unscanned markets remain unavailable. The app credits AHledger wherever its data is shown. Older versions retain their separately labeled companion snapshots.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Security and international processing

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Data may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
